Georgia Meadows Holliday

Georgia Mae Meadows Casper Holliday, age 76, of Augusta, GA, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. A native of Smithonia, GA in Oglethorpe County, she was born March 17, 1934 to the late Henry Thomas Meadows and Rovie Ellis Meadows. Georgia grew up in the Smithonia Community and attended Oglethorpe County High School. She married Eddie O''Dean Casper who preceded her in death on March 2, 1983. In 1985 she married Ronald Holliday from Union Point. While living in Union Point, she was the Quality Control Supervisor and Training Supervisor at Thomas Textile and later owned and operated Georgia''s Dress Shop. Georgia believed in looking her best at all times. She very much enjoyed shopping, talking with her friends and family and eating candy. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Athens, GA. Since 2000, she and her husband Ron have made their home in Augusta, GA.

She is survived by her husband, James Ronald Holliday of Augusta, GA; her children, Judy Casper McMeekin and husband Gary of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, Michael Edward Casper and wife Renee of Winterville, GA and Markus Thomas Casper of Augusta, GA; sisters, Eva Jean DuPre and husband Cecil of Ridgeway, SC and Helen Grace Perkins of North Augusta, SC; brother, Henry Hobart Meadows and wife Karen of Ballground, GA; grandchildren, Thomas Gabriel McMeekin and Heather Nicole Casper; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara B. Luke and Irene Hansel Chastain.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Callaway Funeral Home Chapel in Union Point with Rev. Mark Northcutt officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Gabe McMeekin, Heather Casper, Greg Hamilton, Wesley McDonald, Rhett Simpson and Wayne Jackson.
