Gayle Dunn Moon

Gayle Dunn Moon, 80, of Blue Ridge, GA, formerly of Greensboro, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Born on August 6, 1933 in Sparta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lester Lacey Dunn and Annie Belle Gill Dunn. She graduated from Putnam Hospital Nursing Program as an LPN and worked for Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital and Boswell Parker Nursing Home. Gayle retired in 1998 and lived in the Veazey Community. She recently moved to Blue Ridge to live with her daughter, Janice Lawrence and husband Danny. She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and working crossword puzzles.

Gayle is survived by a daughter, Janice Moon Lawrence and husband Danny of Blue Ridge, GA; two sons, Lester Moon and wife Wanda of Greensboro, GA and Thomas Moon of Greensboro, GA; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her beloved cats, Alley and Grace; a number of other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by a son, John Allen Moon and siblings, Ruth Batson, Nell Walke, Dorene Dunn and Horace Dunn.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. John W. Pike, Jr. officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Kurtis Brown, Andy Rice, Derrick Dickey, Joshua Martin, Jonathan Moon, Jason Thigpen and Russell Moon. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night at McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro, GA.
