Gayle Eugene Jones

Gayle Eugene Jones, age 83, of Greensboro, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016. Gayle was born in Hastings, Nebraska on March 4, 1933, the son of the late Ivor O. Jones and Edyth Brown Jones. He was a graduate of Napa High School in Napa, Idaho.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Until his retirement Gayle was the Manager for Safeway Supermarket in California.  In April of 1985 he moved from California to Greensboro, Georgia.  After moving to Greensboro, he shared a successful painting and wallpapering business, Painting Plus, with his partner, Hoyt Kearns, retiring again in 2012.  Outside of his painting and wallpapering, Gayle was a movie buff who could tell you everything about the movies.  Gayle will be remembered as a devoted friend with a great personality. He will be greatly missed by many, but never forgotten.

In addition to his partner, Hoyt Kearns of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Allen Jones of New Port Beach, California and David Jones of Laguna Beach, California; and cousins, Vicki Groff and Judy Happold. He was predeceased by his seven siblings.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the chapel of McCommons Funeral Home, with Bob Beeland officiating.  The family will receive friends after the service.  In lieu of flowers, if so desired, the family requests that you consider a donation to the Lake Oconee Humane Society, 1020 Park Avenue, Suite 101, Greensboro, GA 30642.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
