Gail Boss Sands

Gail Ellen Boss Sands, age 69, of Greensboro, GA, formerly of Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away, Saturday, November 16, 2013 at St. Mary''s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 29, 1944, the daughter of the late Philip and Lenora Laconte Boss. She graduated from Brooklyn New York High School and earned a Master''s Degree from California Coast University. On December 11, 1965, she married Martin Gary Sands who was a Dermatologist. He was the owner and operator of Dermatology Associates, where she worked as his nurse for twenty years and retired in 2003. For over twenty years, they had spent their vacations at Reynolds Plantation and in January of this year, they made it their permanent home, moving from Cedar Falls, Iowa. There she enjoyed playing bridge, visiting with friends and entertaining her children and grandchildren from Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a member of the Reynold''s Plantation Ladies Club.

Gail is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Martin Sands, of Greensboro, GA; two sons, Bryan David Sands and wife Lori of Cedar Falls, IA and Michael Eric Sands and wife Renee of Cedar Falls, IA; a brother, Bruce David Boss and wife Peggy of Grass Valley, CA; and three grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe and David Sands.

Memorial Services will be held, Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel, Greensboro, GA with Rev. Terrance Stembridge officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Garden of Memories Cemetery and Mausoleum, Waterloo, Iowa.
