Fred Ross Worthy, age 62, of Eatonton, GA died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Born August 3, 1946 in DeKalb County, he was the son of the late Hiram Rhodes Worthey and Ola Marie Downs Worthey. He attended Stone Mountain Elementary and Stone Mountain High School. Mr. Worthy served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Guam aboard the USS Proteus. He was the owner and operator of Worthy Service Company for Heating and Air Conditioning from 1972 until retiring in 1990.
He is survived by a sister, Carolyn Worthey Johnson (Everett) of Tucker, GA; a brother, David (Terrie) Worthey of Monroe, GA; his faithful dog, Blackie; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his youngest sister, JoAnne Cashwell.
