Frances Robertson Watts Reynolds

Frances Robertson Watts Reynolds, age 86, of Crawfordville, GA, passed away on July 29, 2003 at Piedmont Hospital. For the last few years she lived at Brighton Gardens of Buckhead to be close to her family. She was born in Gordon County to the late Robertson Vanburen Watts and Elena Bradford Watts. She graduated from Sonorville High School and Perry Business College in Atlanta. She was employed by The Texas Company. On June 16, 1946 she married Edgar Winston Reynolds at Glenn Memorial Chapel in Atlanta and they made their home in Siloam GA and later moved to Crawfordville, GA. As a member of the Taliaferro County Library Board, she was instrumental in building the modern Taliaferro County Library. She was a member of the Crawfordville Baptist Church where she was a leader of the Girls Auxiliary and she was active with the Boy Scouts.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edgar Winston Reynolds in April of 2000. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Reynolds Brucker and husband Ray of Marietta, GA and Claire Reynolds Rice and husband Jim of Atlanta, GA; a son, William Robertson Reynolds of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Helen Bradford Watts of Atlanta, GA; 3 grandchildren, Claire Reynolds Brucker of Marietta, GA, Josephine Bradford Brucker of Marietta, GA, and William Moore Reynolds II of Athens, GA.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Siloam Baptist Church with Rev. James Bowen and Rev. John Autry officiating. Interment will follow in the Siloam Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Bob Wynne, Hershel Beazley, Clay Hall, Wayne Williams, Paul Dye and Bobby Moore. Honorary pallbearers are David Griffith, Kermit Hocutt, Stoy Taylor, Billy Hall, Charles Greene, Carson Moncrief, T.C. Harrington, Frank Mitchell, Mitchell Noggle, Pat Darden, Robert Harold Kendrick, Ben Beazley, K. Willie Dye and Kenneth Nunn. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Crawfordville Baptist Church, 109 Park Street, Crawfordville, GA 30631 or the Taliaferro County Library, Askin Street, Crawfordville, GA 30631.
