Mary Frances Wiggins Berry
December 17, 1928 – March 31, 2015
Mary Frances Wiggins Berry, 86, of Atlanta, passed away on March 31, 2015. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 17, 1928 to the late Henry Wiggins and Isabelle Head Wiggins.
Frances graduated from Madison County High School in 1945. She married the love of her life, William (Bill) L. Berry, on February 21, 1948. They lived in Tucker, Georgia, where they raised three daughters; Libby, Tricia and Robin. Frances enjoyed being a homemaker for many years, but once the children were in school, she worked as a secretary to the Vice President and General Manager of Perimeter Mall and retired in 1982. Upon Bill’s retirement from Southern Bell, he and Frances moved to Greensboro, Georgia where Frances took real estate courses and began a successful career selling properties on or around Lake Oconee. She loved to entertain family and friends at their lakeside home. In addition, some of her greatest pleasures included traveling the USA and abroad, swimming, gardening, playing bridge, reading and volunteering at the local library, and taking boat rides with Bill.
Frances is survived by her loving husband, Bill Berry; daughters Libby Churchill and husband Joe of Clayton, New York; Tricia Baker of Atlanta, Georgia; Robin Riecke of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Ann Gregg and husband Gene of N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with the Rev. John Pike officiating. Interment will be at the Greensboro City Cemetery in Greensboro, Georgia.
