Floy Jeanette Gabriel Poulnott, age 82, of Greensboro, GA, died Monday, November 23, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 1, 1927 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia to the late Willie Howard Gabriel and Laura Nellie Seagraves Gabriel. She moved to Greensboro in 1946 and worked for Mary Lelia Cotton Mill for fifteen years. Along with her husband, Jack Poulnott, they began a very successful country store and auto mechanic business in the late 1950''s. Mrs. Poulnott was a member of Wesley Chapel Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband John "Jack" Poulnott in October of 2003; two sons, John Wayne Poulnott and Jack "Bug" Junior Poulnott; and siblings, Joyce Finch, Muriel Gabriel, Frank Gabriel, Allen Gabriel and J. C. Gabriel. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Poulnott Knight and her husband Robert of Greensboro, GA; granddaughters, Patti Pigg and husband John, Kay Jones and husband Marion and Tammy Mills all of North Carolina and Angela Carr and husband James; grandsons, Michael Poulnott and wife Stacy of Ohio and William Poulnott and wife Becky of North Carolina; multiple great grandchildren; and her most beloved pets, Baby Dog and Boo Boo.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Benson Bottoms officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Walker, Albert McNair, Johnny Lewis, Mike Simpson, Kelly Moncrief and Scott Davis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
