Florrie Shelton Bonner, age 89, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Boswell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Warren County, Georgia, March 1, 1913, the youngest of nine children, to Thomas Levi Shelton and Willie Norris Shelton. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro and a retired textile worker, living in Greensboro, Georgia for the past 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Bonner; one daughter, Evelyn Rhodes; and two grandchildren, Thomas Jeffery Rhodes and Robert Gholston "Rocky" Jones. She is survived by two daughters, Wilma Jones and husband Bay of Crawfordville, Georgia, and Martha Passwaters of Denton, Maryland; one sister, Laura Dye of Jane Lew, West Virginia; 6 grandchildren, Bonnie Ferguson, Barry Rhodes and wife Geraldine, Ricky Jones and wife Bobbie, Donna Adams and husband Chris, David Jones, and Tammy Wooters; 12 great-grandchildren, Kim Williams, Kevin Williams, Chris Williams, Dustin Rhodes, Kami Long, Heather Darden, Bay Jones II, Margo Adams, Morgan Adams, Mason Adams, Charity Mullen and Danielle Wooters; 6 great-great grandchildren, Christopher Williams, Cameron Williams, Nolan Williams, Gant Darden, Destiny Collie-Mullen, and Joshua Mullen; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Richard Chewning and Lee Benson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery in Greensboro. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons, Ricky Jones, David Jones, Chris Adams, Tripp Darden, Robert Long, Dustin Rhodes, Barry Rhodes, and Bay Jones II. The family will receive friends Monday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 202 W.
