Floria Lucile Lankford Epps

Floria Lucile Lankford Epps, age 92, of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Born in Union Point, GA on May 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Harvey Lankford, Sr. and Floria Burnette Lankford. Most of her life was spent in Bairdstown until she moved to Greensboro to live with her daughter.  Lucile worked for Union Manufacturing in Union Point as a Looper and later for Universal Rundle as a tub finisher. While family was the focal point of her life, Lucile also enjoyed growing flowers, doing crossword puzzles and reading. She was a member of Bairds Baptist Church in Bairdstown.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Millard Epps in 1995; and siblings, Carroll Lankford, Jr., Grover Lankford and Clarke Lankford.  Survivors include three daughters, Linda Hammond and husband Patrick of Arnoldsville, GA, Nancy Kell and husband Michael of McDonough, GA and Janice Patrick and husband Kenneth of Greensboro, GA; brother, Samuel Terrell Lankford; sisters, Alice Griffith, Elizabeth Epps and Betty Elrod; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
 
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating. Interment will follow in the Bairds Baptist Church Cemetery in Bairdstown.  Serving as pallbearers are Jason Patrick, Jeff Patrick, Matt Patrick, Chris Savage, Brian Savage and Daniel Oh. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at the funeral home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
