Eudene “Cookie” Cook Hill DeGood, age 87, of Woodville, Georgia, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Eudene was born in White Plains, GA on April 30, 1924 the daughter of the late L.H. and Willie Mae Cook. She attended Woodville School and graduated from Union Point High School and Greensboro Business School. She served as office manager and bookkeeper for three Chevrolet Dealerships which spanned a period of 35 years. She was a loyal member of Woodville Baptist Church. She was married to Ray M. Hill for 56 years prior to his death in 2001. Eudene was an avid reader and historian.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin DeGood, of Hemet California; two daughters, Paula Hill Brock and husband Phil of Woodville, GA and Pam Hill Smith and husband Bruce of Athens, GA; a sister, Hallie Cook Davison and husband Julian of Woodville, GA; a brother Ret. Col. Richard R. Cook and wife Grace of Woodville, GA; three grandchildren, Russell Brock and wife Cherie of Athens, GA; Rosilyn Brock Hunt and husband James of Woodville, GA and Kevin Smith and wife Chelsea of Tucker, GA; five great grandchildren, Zoey Brock, Ethan and Robert Hunt and Cole and Austin Daniel; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her beloved dog, Missy.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 20,2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodville Baptist Church, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E., Woodville, GA 30669 with Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Buster Moon, John Hill O’Neal, Donald Silvey, Johnny O’Neal, Keith Branyan and Michael Malik. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service and the family will receive friends after the service at the Woodville School House.
