Margaret Estelle Greeson Sellers, age 93, of the Greshamville Community in Greene County, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, GA. She was born in Greshamville on September 3, 1924 to the late Isaac Hugh Greeson and Flora Roxanne Attaway Greeson. She grew up and graduated from the school in Greshamville. Estelle married John Able Sellers on October 6, 1940. During her working career she worked for Morgan Sportswear and Golden Pantry in Madison, GA. She was also a homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, flowers, gardening and cutting grass. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to everybody and had an infectious laugh. She was a member of Fork Chapel United Methodist Church and also attended New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, John Able Sellers, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Denise Sellers; a son, John Larry Sellers; great grandson, Dylan Matthew Jones; and her siblings, Alpha Brown Peppers, Hugh Dorsey Greeson, Mattie Lou Jackson, Charles Gaillard Greeson, Edward William Greeson and Geneva Nora Sellers. She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Ann Gillespie (Robert) of Baldwin, GA, Brenda Thompson (Jimmy) of Rutledge, GA and Lynn Thomas (Byron) of Eatonton, GA; two sons, Jerry Sellers of Greshamville and Tommy Sellers (Geraldine) of Sarasota, FL; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 6 great, great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fork Chapel United Methodist Church, 1401 Farmington Road, Madison, GA 30650 with Rev. Dr. Tony Gavalas and Rev. Guy Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are the Eatonton Police Department Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
