Emmett Alfred "Mickey" Taylor

Emmett Alfred “Mickey” Taylor, age 53, of Union Point, GA died Tuesday, November 14, 2017.  Born in Greensboro, GA on July 15, 1964, he was the son of Dianne Miller Gibson of Union Point, GA and the late Emmett Moore Taylor.  He attended Washington Wilkes High School.  Mickey was a heavy equipment operator working for both Strother Logging and Davis Logging in Washington, GA.  He had a love for antiquing, also enjoyed tinkering and was a great mechanic.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Union Point, GA.

In addition to his mother and step-father, Dianne and Harold Gibson of Union Point, GA, he is survived by a daughter, Taylor Farmer of Crawfordville, GA; four grandchildren, Bryson Lee Taylor, Gracee Greeson, Sarah Bell Greeson and Brynleigh Graves; four brothers, Timothy Moore Taylor, Sr. (Tiffany) of Gainesville, GA, Scott Gibson (Star) of Lithia Springs, GA, Mike Gibson (Melissa) of Roswell, GA, Leonard Gibson (Tonya) of Union Point, GA; sister, Denise Collins (Reed) of Canton, NC; a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Emmett Moore Taylor and his son, Emmett Moore “Mitch” Taylor.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church (North Campus) in Greensboro with Rev. Hugh Hendrickson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at the First United Methodist Church (North Campus).
