Emily Elizabeth Lindsey Smith, 55, of Greensboro died Saturday, December 8, 2001 at her residence.
Emily was born December 30, 1945 in Washington, Georgia to Emily Boswell Lindsey and the late Elisha Jonfair Lindsey. She was a 1964 graduate of Greensboro High School. Emily was a homemaker and a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband of 38 years, Robert Smith; two daughters, Debra Smith of Greensboro and Leanne S. Moncrief and son-in-law, Lane Moncrief, of Greensboro; three sisters, Ann Smith, Roberta Smith and Christine West, all of Greensboro; two brothers, Richard Lindsey of Oconee, Georgia and Gene Lindsey of Union Point, Georgia; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Moncrief and Rachel Moncrief of Greensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church, White Plains, Georgia with Reverend Reggie Haslett, Reverend Gary Nicholas and Reverend Jimmy Long officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steve Lanier, Jeff Smith, Lane Smith, Martin Smith, Chris West and Ken West.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cindy Edmonds, Dede Smith, Robbie Edmonds, Kathi Smoker, Donna Edwards, Dee Lindsey, Keith Lindsey, Kim Brantley, Ben Lanier, Morgan Lanier, Scott Williams and Tom Williams.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church Children''s Fund or Cemetery Fund or to First Baptist Church of Greensboro Building Fund.
