Ella Boyce Moon Walker, age 78, of Union Point, GA, died Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Taliaferro County on June 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Grover Russell Moon and Ophelia Taylor Moon. She worked in the boarding and inspection departments at Chipman Union in Union Point for 42 years, retiring in October of 2001. She attended Crawfordville School and was a member of the Baptist Faith. A� She is survived by a son, Robert Daniel and wife Jean of Union Point, GA; a stepdaughter-in-law, Joyce Walker of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Russell Moon and wife Jean of Athens, GA; two grandchildren, Alicia Acosta of Greensboro, GA and Jason Bentley of Lincolnton, GA; three step grandchildren, Joy Walker, Eric Walker and Chris Walker; six great-grandchildren, Haley Hogan, Anthony Montoya, Isaac Acosta, Joshua Acosta, Amanda Bentley and Justin Bentley; three step great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Merise Jessie "Fliss" Daniel; second husband David Lee Walker Jr.; a stepson, Larry Walker; one sister, Lottie-Nell Finch; and three brothers, Earnest Moon, Stanley Moon and John Moon. A� Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 03, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Jim Olds and Rev. Talmadge Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Union Point. Serving as pallbearers are Frank Finch, Franklin Combs, Wayne Jackson, Dean Bentley, Josh Bentley, Jimmy Finch and Allen Griffith. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
