Elizabeth Moon Sorrow

Elizabeth Moon Sorrow, age 89, of Woodville, Georgia died Monday, June 5, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Born August 4, 1927 in Fayetteville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Grady and Annie Ruth Nash Moon. She married Harold Calvin Sorrow, Sr. After living in Conyers, GA, they moved to Greene County forty years ago.  For eighteen years she worked for Cotton’s Corner in Greensboro, GA, retiring in 2000.  She was a longtime member of the Woodville Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and being with her family.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Harold Calvin Sorrow, Sr. in  1993 and her son, Harold Calvin “Moose” Sorrow, Jr. in 2014. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings, Bernice Hagood, Henry Grady Moon and Coetta Purslay. She is survived by a daughter, Ann Silvey and her husband Gerald of Woodville, GA; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Sorrow of Union Point, GA; grandchildren, Jason Silvey and his wife Allison, Shalon Silvey, Chris Silvey and Chasity Callaway Allen, Calvin Sorrow and James Hamp Sorrow; great grandchildren, Tyler Pendygraft, Brooklyn Pendygraft, Mary Alice Silvey, Tennett Allen, Jacob Silvey and Camden Murphey.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodville Baptist Church, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E, Woodville, GA 30669 with Rev. Lee Smith and Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Donald Silvey, Keith Branyan, Hollis Yearwood, Bubba Anderson, Kenny Silvey, Don Wick and Autry Bramlett.  Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at the church. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Woodville Baptist Church, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E, Woodville, GA 30669. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
