Elizabeth Carolyn Arthur Jarrard, age 80, of Siloam, Georgia, died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Athens. Born in Oglethorpe County on June 19, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Harry Lee Arthur and Gladys Elder Arthur. She attended school in Maxeys and attended Oglethorpe County High School where she played basketball. After marrying Steve Jarrard on June 22, 1944, she moved to Greene County. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. During her working career she worked for Vancrest Egg Terminal in Greensboro, Union Manufacturing in Union Point and Jarrard''s Grocery in Siloam. Mrs. Jarrard was a member of Siloam Baptist Church and a member of AARP.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Steve Jarrard, of Siloam, GA; two sons, Thurmond Jarrard and wife Linda of Siloam, GA and Billy "Tic" Jarrard of Siloam, GA; a nephew, Jimmy May of Niceville, FL; five sisters, Lucy Bryson of Jonesboro, GA, Grace Thompson of Newnan, GA, Ola Belle Ivie of Loganville, GA, Betty Jo Kerlin of Buford, GA and Pearl Fowler of Crawfordville, GA; four grandchildren, Jamie Jarrard and wife Christie of Bostwick, GA, Lynn Marchman and husband Billy "Boot" Marchman Jr. of Greensboro, GA, Mathew Jarrard of Siloam, GA and Zack Jarrard of Siloam, GA; four great grandchildren, Autumn Jarrard, Summer Jarrard, Allie Marchman and Abby Marchman; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Smith.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Siloam Baptist Church with Rev. James Bowen and Rev. Curtiss Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Siloam Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Sidney Bryson, Charles Gheesling, Larry Eley, Billy "Boot" Marchman Jr., Wade Creech and Keith James. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Siloam Baptist Church, P. O.
