Elizabeth Jernigan English, 84, a former longtime resident of Greensboro, GA died Friday, January 10, 2003 at Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa. Born September 17, 1918 in Hancock County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Redic "Red" Jernigan and Eunie Johnson Jernigan. She was a homemaker and a member of Powellton Baptist Church. She and her husband have lived in Clayton, GA for the last few years.
She is survived by her husband J.O. English Jr. of Clayton, GA; a son, Albert O. English and wife Kathryn K. English of Clayton, GA; and two grandsons, Aaron English and Russell English.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Ray Crabtree and Melvin Charles officiating. Interment will follow at Powellton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Johnnie Hawks, Tommy Moon, Lewis Duvall, Richard Smith, Bobby Voyles, Don Bourne, Billy Ashley and Bobby Dolvin. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, GA and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.
