Edward Herbert Walker, age 61, of Union Point, GA, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Athens. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born on April 18, 1945 to Myrtle Lee Gheesling Walker and the late Herbert Franklin Walker. Edward graduated from Union Point High School in 1963 and was an outfielder on the 1963 State Baseball Championship Team. He was an electrical and plumbing contractor and a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point.
In addition to his mother, Myrtle Lee Gheesling Walker of Union Point, GA, he is survived by a daughter, Teresa Dunagan and husband David of White Plains, GA; two sons, Scott Walker of Union Point, GA and Wade Walker of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Barry Walker and wife Iris of Lexington, GA and Freddie Walker and wife Susan of Greensboro, GA; two granddaughters, Danni Lee Dunagan and Samantha Dunagan of White Plains, GA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Leonard Ezell officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
