Edsel Loyal Perteet

Edsel Loyal “Ed” Perteet, age 86, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Sunday, March 22, 2015.  Born in Watkinsville, GA, on December 11, 1928 to the late Mercer and Bertie Skinner Perteet, he spent most of his life in Putnam and Greene County. He attended school in Watkinsville and joined the United States Army in 1950 serving in Europe with the Border Patrol between East and West Germany. After moving to Greensboro in 1985, he was a truck driver working for Sweetapple Plastics and later retired from NIBCO.  In his early retirement he loved to fish and help on the farm where there was a garden and animals.  He especially loved his dogs, enjoyed being outdoors, wrestling and games.  After his wife, Nancy, retired they began to travel to Las Vegas, Kentucky, South Carolina and Texas to visit family and friends.  He was known as Paw Paw after his grandchildren came along and he truly enjoyed his visits with them.  He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Eatonton, GA.
    
Survivors include his son, Edward Perteet of Greensboro, GA; step daughter, Wanda McClendon (Mike) of Greensboro, GA; stepsons, David Beasley of Greensboro, GA, Joseph Beasley (Stacey) of Cumming, GA, Adrian Beasley (Yvonne) of Greensboro, GA, Ronnie Beasley of Buckhead, GA; grandchildren, Phillip Beasley, Danny “Pee Wee” Beasley, Rodney Ashley, Michele McClendon, Ally Beasley, Kyle Hanson, Shay Beasley, Briana Beasley, and Kristy Beasley; great grand children, Austin Ashley, Dillan Ashley, Adreanna Ashley, Brantley Beasley, Joseph Ashley, Georgia Beasley and Chase Beasley;  sister, Faye Spears of Columbia, SC; and a niece, Shelia and her husband Robert.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Otelia Rosser Perteet; second wife Nancy Gertrude Bagwell Perteet; two stepsons, Phillip Chamblee and Mike Chamblee; and a grandson, Justin Beasley.

Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Dennis Garner officiating.  Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church  Cemetery, 420 Sparta Highway, Eatonton, GA 31024.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.  Serving as pallbearers are Danny Ashley, Wayne Sisson, Danny Beasley, Rodney Ashley, Phillip Beasley, Adrian Beasley and David Beasley.  Honorary pallbearers are Joe Beasley and Ronnie Beasley.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
