Edna Brake Silvey

Edna Elizabeth Brake Silvey, age 81, of Union Point, GA died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Greene Point Health Care in Union Point, GA. A native of Greene County, GA, she was born September 22, 1929 the daughter of the late Charles Emory Brake and Sara Caldwell Brake. She attended Greensboro High School and worked as a spinner at Mary Leila Cotton Mills which later became Wellington Puritan Mills retiring in the early 1980''s. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point, GA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bowden Silvey and a brother, Buster Brake. She is survived by a daughter Ann Meadows Silvey of Union Point, GA; a son George Meadows and wife Doris of Barnesville, GA; three granddaughters, Delores Turner of Gainesville, GA, Kay Barnett of Union Point, GA and Barbara Martin of Naples, FL; six great grandchildren, Dale Barnett Jr., Justin Turner, Macy Barnett, Lance Martin, Logan Martin and Lucas Martin; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, 1560 Bethesda Church Road, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Lem Clark officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Dale Barnett Sr., Dale Barnett Jr., Terry Turner, Justin Turner, Alton Martin and Lance Martin.
