Edna Mitcham Garrett, age 88, of Greensboro, GA, died Saturday, June 7, 2003 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. A native of Morgan County she was born February 14, 1915 to the late John Carlton Mitcham and Alice Adora Murray Mitcham. She was a graduate of the Morgan County School System. Mrs. Garrett was a homemaker, a very talented artist and avid gardner, hybridizing her own daylilies. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro, Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Murray Clan Society in Scotland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Jackson Garrett. She is survived by a close friend, W. Joel McRay of Union Point, GA and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Monday, June 9, 2003 Cryptside at 1:00 p.m. at Westview Abbey in Atlanta.. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
