Edna Cheek Adams

Edna Cheek Adams, age 102, of Union Point, GA, died August 22, 2005 at her son''s residence. Born in Walton County on October 21, 1902 she was the daughter of the late George L. Cheek and Lizzie L. Crawley Cheek. She graduated from Mt. Carmel School and in 1927 moved to Greensboro. For over thirty years she worked as a spooler at Mary Leila Cotton Mills in Greensboro. She was a member of West End Baptist Church of Greensboro and enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband Zebedee A. Adams in 1976 and a granddaughter, Dianne Chatfield Allen. She is survived by a son, George T. Adams and wife Ann of Union Point, GA; a daughter, Annette Adams Chatfield of Yatesville, GA; seven grandchildren, Richard Adams of Greensboro, GA, Stacy Adams and wife Sally of the Liberty Community, Jay Adams and wife Loreen of Greensboro, GA, Stephen Chatfield and wife Josefina of Troy, IL, Edward Chatfield and wife Vickie of Yatesville, GA, Janice Chatfield Crook and husband George of Yatesville, GA and Michael Chatfield of Yatesville, GA; twelve great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jay Adams, Stacy Adams, Richard Adams, Stephen Chatfield, Edward Chatfield, Johnny Adams, Zeb Adams and Stephen Allen.
