Earl Jackson “Jack” Whittaker, 60, of the Greshamville Community in Greene County, died May 21, 2004 at Portsbridge Hospice of Conyers. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born on December 11, 1943 to the late Frank Jackson Whittaker and Era Luck Whittaker. In 1962 he graduated from Greensboro High School. After graduating he drove a truck for J. W. McKinley and was a dairy farmer. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Greshamville.
He is survived by a daughter, Delphina Rojo and husband Ed of Venice, Italy; two sisters, Shirley Simmons and husband James of the Greshamville Community and Susan Whittaker of Greensboro; four brothers, Andrew Whittaker and wife Catherine of Greensboro, GA, Lynn Whittaker and wife Mildred of Clayton, GA, Tony Whittaker of Greensboro, GA and Richard Whittaker and wife Gwen of Glennville, GA; two grandchildren, Diego Rojo and Myra Rojo; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Greshamville with Rev. Durell Rice officiating. The family requests that contributions be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 311 E. Greene Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 or Portsbridge Hospice, 1374 Manchester Drive, Conyers, GA 30012. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
