Earl Hawkins, Jr

Earl Hawkins, Jr., age 78, of the Greshamville Community of Greene County, died Sunday, November 19, 2006 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Athens. Born in Newberry, South Carolina on December 9, 1927 he was the son of the late Earl Hawkins, Sr. and Nolie Prevatt Hawkins Tesh. For more than thirty years he had lived in Greene and Taliaferro Counties. He was a maintenance worker at Chipman Union in Union Point and a Card Tender for Wellington Puritan in Greensboro. His hobbies were fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Pansy Mae Leonard Hawkins of the Greshamville Community; good friends, Talmadge and Dianne Morrow of Union Point, GA; and a number of other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Hawkins and Jerry Hawkins; and a sister, Elsie Wilkerson.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
