Dorothy Herring Harden

Dorothy Herring Harden, age 63, of Eatonton, GA, passed away on April 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Putnam County on February 11, 1950, she was the daughter of the late John Ethridge Herring and Clara Louise Embry Herring. She graduated from Putnam County High School. On March 22, 1975 she married Sidney Julian Harden. They recently moved back to Putnam County from Florida to be closer to her family. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, but most of all being a homemaker and enjoying activities with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Sidney Harden of Eatonton, GA, she is survived by two daughters, Sidney Julia Harden and Rachel Olivia Harden; four grandchildren, Kenneth Lane Padgett, Presley Ann King, Randell Everett Hamilton, Jr. and Riley Hamilton; a sister, Maxine Herring Singleton; a brother, James Michael Herring; a number of nieces and nephews in surrounding counties; and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Mike Willard officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. The family requests any memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
