Dorothy Stanley Biddy

Mrs. Dorothy Stanley Biddy of Washington, Georgia entered into rest on March 21, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her husband the late Joe Brown Biddy, Sr. of Adairsville, Georgia.  Born May 21, 1921 she was the daughter of Lucius Peak Stanley and Adeline Moon Stanley of Siloam, Georgia.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings Stella Stanley, Mabel Brown (Buddy), Eliza Squadrito, Hugh Stanley (Gladys), Hazel Durrence (Joe), and Helen Withrow (Charlie) and one half -brother Leroy Stanley.  Also preceding her in death were her nephew Raymond Hill and her niece Brenda Withrow Nachman.    

She is survived by her nieces and nephews Juanita Stanley Maxey(Myron), Catherine Stanley Dodson (Ronnie), Walter Stanley (Linda), Lewis P. Brown, Jr. (Reba), Dr. James Stanley Brown (Sammi), Edward Withrow (Jan), Carol Anne Durrence Carson, Joey Durrence (Cathy), Paul Durrence (Debbie), Ginger Squadrito Bradford, & Charles Squadrito. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and twenty-seven great-great nieces and nephews.  

She was called Dot by all that knew her. She was a 1939 graduate of Greensboro High School.  She had spent most of her life in Adairsville, Georgia after WW-II with her husband on their farm.  She was a homemaker and helped him tend cattle and run a small sawmill.  She moved to Washington, Georgia to be near family in 2003.  She was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church in Washington.  She loved her family and friends.  She loved gardening, reading, quilting, and fishing.  

Services will be held on Thursday March 24th with visitation at McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro, Georgia from 2-3 p.m. with the service following at Siloam Cemetery (if inclement weather service will be held at the chapel in McCommons Funeral Home) at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Richard Broom of Smyrna United Methodist Church officiating.  Serving as pallbearers are Lewis P. Brown, III, Dr. James Stanley Brown, Joey Durrence, Paul Durrence, Walter Stanley, Charles Squadrito and Edward Withrow.   Memorials may be made to the Siloam Cemetery Fund: c/o Lewis P.
