Doris (Durham) Tanner

Doris Durham Tanner, 89, went home unexpectedly to be with her Lord and Savior on July 17, 2015.  She was born October 25, 1925 in Woodville, Georgia, the 10th of 12 children. Doris was a long time resident of Decatur, Georgia where she made a difference in the lives of many.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Decatur where she served as a deacon and was very involved in the pastoral care ministries.  Her many years of service to others was recognized in 2011 when she was awarded the Rosalyn Carter Institute for Caregiving as a Georgia Regional Caregiver Of The Year.  She was a wonderful Mother to her six children and an adoring Grandmother and Great Grandmother.  Her spirit of giving, sense of humor and acts of love will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of her life is scheduled for 10:30 Tuesday, July 21st, at First Baptist Church, Decatur.  Interment will follow at 4:00 at the Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodville, GA.
