Doris Nevil Sharp Rice

Doris Nevil Sharp Rice, age 92, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at her daughter''s home in Greensboro. She was born in Nelson County, Kentucky on October 28, 1915 to the late Marvin Henry Sharp and Cora Lee Richardson Sharp. She graduated from Nelson Creek High School in Kentucky and Cosmetology School in Bowling Green, KY. During her career she was a manager at Kaufman''s Department Store and Selman''s Department Store in Louisville, KY. Later she was manager of Regis Beauty Salon in Louisville, KY. Mrs. Rice moved from Ft. Myers, FL after the death of her husband and had made her home in Greene County since 2000. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro.

Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her husband, John Aylette Rice; a son, Marvin E. Rice; and siblings, Ruby Rose, Billy Ford and Millie Rice. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Stewart and husband Hal of Greensboro, GA and Millie Sherman and husband Terry of San Ramon, CA; a daughter-in-law, Lucy Rice of Sellersburg, IN; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
