Doris Beal Ogletree

Doris Beal Ogletree, age 97, of Union Point, Georgia, died Saturday, February 1, 2013 at Greene Point Health Care and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Ogletree was born November 28, 1915, in Madison, GA to the late Epp Beal and Ophelia Johnson Beal. She attended schools in Morgan County and on July 17, 1937 she married William Howard Ogletree. Mrs. Ogletree was an exceptional cook, especially baking cakes and enjoyed making quilts. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Union Point.

She is survived by five sons, James Ogletree of Union Point, GA, Ed Ogletree of Union Point, GA, David Ogletree of Washington, GA, Ralph Ogletree of Orange City, FL and Gene Ogletree of Swainsboro, GA; two sisters, Nina Stewart of White Plains, GA and Jewell Harper of Covington, GA; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Ogletree and her siblings, Bernice Clear, Henry C. Beal and Elmer Beal.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Bobby Tomlin officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Randy Ogletree, Mike Bryant, Joshua Bryant, Dale Ogletree, Ricky Beal and Clay Beal. The family requests that any memorials be made to Greene Point Health and Rehabilitation, 1321 Washington Highway, Union Point, GA 30669. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday night at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
