Donald Preston "Don" Silvey, Jr.

Donald Preston “Don” Silvey, Jr. of Woodville, GA, age 50, died on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, GA.  Don was born in Greensboro, GA on June 6, 1968, the son of Margaret Susan Lindsey West and Donald Preston Silvey, Sr.  Don attended Greene County High School.  For many years he worked as a clerk at McDonald’s before retiring because of health.  He attended Woodville Baptist Church.  He was an avid sports fan who loved the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Louisville Cardinals and the Kentucky Wild Cats.  Don also enjoyed fishing, wrestling and Karaoke.

In addition to his mother, Susan West; father, Donald Silvey, Sr.; and his children, Donald “Trey” Silvey III, Ina Silvey and Jasper Silvey, he is survived by his grandfather, Phillip VanEck,  brothers, Ronnie Silvey (Tina); Andy Barber (Angie), Jason Barber (Chrissy); sisters, Susie Anderson (Gary), Wendy Webb, Christina Guenther (Roger), Dondra Jones (Drew) and Aubrey Nation (Troy).  He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Woodville Baptist Church, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E, Woodville, GA 30669 with Rev. Lee Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in the Woodville Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers are Keith Branyan, Drew Jones, Roger Guenther, Rick Dawson, Dan Ellison, Chris Shockley, and Gerald Silvey.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until time for the service at Woodville Baptist Church.
