Dolores Godbee Wilson

Dolores Godbee Wilson, 91, of Greensboro, GA died December 25, 2014 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. Mrs. Wilson was born on October 16, 1923 in Queens New York to the late Lloyd Watson Godbee, Sr. and Mary Margaret McReynolds Godbee.  After moving back to Georgia, she graduated from Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville, GA.  She spent her working career as a knitter for Union Manufacturing and a seamstress for Lena Hy Garment Company and Stewart Apparel.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.  Dolores was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed shopping and sitting on her front porch swing enjoying nature.  Most of all she loved her family and friends and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Hugh Wilson; son Lenward “Lynn” Leach and siblings, Gloria Mary Godbee Powell, Thelma Godbee Leach, and Lloyd Watson Godbee, Jr.  She is survived by two daughters, Dollie Eley and husband Jamie of White Plains, GA and Cheryl Dolvin and husband Jimmy of Greensboro, GA; four grandchildren, Jim Dolvin (Kimberly), Crystal Dolvin Brown and fiance, Jason Jordon, Ginger Eley and Brittany Leach; three great grandchildren, Amelia Dolvin, Ingrid Dolvin and Delainey Brown; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro, GA with Rev. Bobby Tomlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Penfield Cemetery, 1211 Cemetery Road, Penfield, GA 30669. Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Dolvin, Niles Webb and Jamie Eley.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
