Mrs. Delores (Dee) Payton, age 76, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at St. Joseph''s Hospital in Atlanta. Mrs. Payton was born on June 12, 1931 the daughter of the late Mayo Brown and Loretta Weishaupt. She was preceded in death by her husband, William N. Payton and son, William C. Spann. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Spann of Greensboro, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Connie Spann of Monroe, GA and a son, David Spann of Conyers, GA; grandchildren, Ryan Spann, Brandi Spann, Sunni Spann, Dayton Spann, Evan South and Kaden Spann, sister, Idella McCoy; and nieces and nephews. Dee was a graduate of Alton Illinois High School. She worked for the Navy, Air Force, Defense Contracts and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1982 after 26 years of federal government service. After retirement she and her husband moved to Lake Oconee and enjoyed time playing with their dogs, Ginger and Bo, fishing and entertaining family and friends at their Putnam County home until his death.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p. m. until time for the service Tuesday night. The family requests that any memorials be made to Oconee Regional Humane Society, P.O.
