Delle Scott Obituary

Delle Morgan Scott, of Union Point, Georgia, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Greene Point Health Care & Rehabilitation. She was 100 years old. Mrs. Delle retired from the Greene County Public School System after teaching for a number years where she influenced the lives of many young people in Greene County. Born in Dearing, GA on November 8, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Lucius Morgan, Sr. and Georgie Eunice Langham Morgan. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Union Point, where she was active in many of the church activities including Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Union Point Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Oliver Scott, Jr.; a son, Owen Oliver "Scotty" Scott, III; and siblings, Margaret Morgan Himebaugh, Jackson M. “Jack” Morgan and Lucius “Rusty” Morgan, Jr. She is survived by a son, James M. "Jimmy" Scott, of Union Point, Georgia; a special niece, Jamie Himebaugh Smith and husband Mike of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Chad Delan Scott of Frederick, Maryland, John Owen Scott and wife Deirdre of Sarasota, Florida, Tara Eden Scott Kendall and husband John of Jacksonville, Florida and Dr. Buck Andreu Scott and wife Shawn of New Orleans, Louisiana; Six great grandchildren, Sage Taylor Scott, Madilynn Delle Scott, John Owen Scott Jr. all of Sarasota, Florida, Owen Scott Kendall, Nora Grace Kendall both of Jacksonville, Florida, Evelyn Lea Scott of New Orleans, Louisana; and a number of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date and a private burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Rhodes Street, Union Point, Georgia 30669. The family requests that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 201 Veazey Street, Union Point, GA 30669. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
