Debra Elaine Hansen
Debra Elaine Hansen, age 61, of Greensboro, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia. Debra, along with her twin brother Daniel, was born April 29, 1954 in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of the late Hans Christian Hansen and Shirley Elaine Ward Hansen. Deb was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa and attended Iowa State University in Davenport, Iowa. She worked for Open Magnetic Imaging in Atlanta, Georgia. She lived several years in California before moving to Marietta and then retired to Greensboro, Georgia. She loved to join friends at auctions on weekends.
Deb was everyone’s best friend. She would do anything to help others and to make life better for those around her. Always giving the thoughtful gifts, her actions spoke volumes about her. As a MRI Tech for the Atlanta area, she made patients feel safe and always put a smile on their faces. She received many hugs from those she helped.
In addition to her parents, Hans Christian and Shirley Hansen, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Daniel Hansen. She is survived by two sisters, Carol Hansen Roeck and Mary Jean Hansen; sister-in-law, Susan Hansen; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will have a celebration of her life at her home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements. Visit us at www.mccommonsfuneralhome.com to sign the online guest register.
