Debbie sue Patton Brice of Commerce, GA formerly of Greensboro, GA passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, GA at the age of 61. She was born on May 18, 1956 in Spartanburg, SC to the late James Wallace Patton and Ruth McDonald Patton. She graduated from Nathanael Greene Academy and earned a Sociology Degree from Tift College. Debbie Sue was a case worker for the Greene County Department of Family and Childrens Services and later the Jackson County Department of Family and Childrens Services. She worked for thirty-two and one half years retiring in 2014. She married Robert Samuel Brice on July 15, 2006 and they made their home in Commerce. As a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, Debbie Sue worked a long time in the nursery. She grew up in Greensboro where she raised her children, Kim and Jamie. She loved shopping, planning social events, going to the beach and travelling.
In addition to her husband, Sam Brice of Commerce, GA, she is survived by a daughter Kim Windham (Punt) of Stone Mountain, GA; a son, James Fuller of Athens, GA; five stepsons, Dan Brice (Angela) of Belgium, Joe Brice of Gainesville, GA, Mark Brice of Gainesville, GA, Jake Brice of Gainesville, GA and Josh Brice (Laura) of Jefferson, GA; three step grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 105 Westpark Drive, Athens, GA 30606.
