DeAlva Leggett Obituary

DeAlva Leggett of Reynolds Landing passed away after a short illness at Putnam General on Monday,  November 27, 2017.  De was born in Appling Co. Ga September 4,1940 to Ertle Woodrow Leggett and Ruth Esther Leggett.  De graduated from Wayne County High School and the University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism.   

Starting her career in television and broadcasting in New York, De decided to return to school to further her education in Computer technology.  De began her IT career with American Airlines, Hueblin Winery, Del Monte, RJ Reynolds and eventually retired from Charles Schwab where she was a National IT Manager.

In 2001, De returned to Georgia to live close to family and friends for the remainder of her retirement.  She lived in Reynolds Landing where she was active as a Master Gardner in the community.  De enjoyed her time with friends in the Ladies At The Landing, Bridge, and Bunco groups.  De was active in her homeowner’s group as the communication contact person.

De is survived by 3 brothers Ronald Leggett of Alpharetta, GA; Everett Leggett of Jesup, GA; John Leggett of Sacramento, CA and one sister Genevieve Williams of Greensboro, GA.

There will be a private service held for the family.  In memory of De Leggett donations may be made to her favorite philanthropy - the Oconee Regional Human Society in Greensboro, GA.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
