David A. O’Keefe, of Greensboro, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Southwest Christian Hospice in Union City, Georgia at the age of 77. Born in Astoria, New York on September 11, 1934, he was the son of the late Catherine Mary Cooney O’Keefe and David Aloysius O’Keefe. He graduated from Regis High School in New York City, NY in 1952 and from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY in 1956. On May 11, 1957, he married the former Diana Haynes in New York City. Upon graduation from college he began work for Lybrand, Ross Bros. and Montgomery, which is now PricewaterhouseCoopers. He became a partner in 1967 and retired in 1991 after thirty-five years of service. Mr. O’Keefe moved from Greenlawn, New York to Reynolds Plantation in 1996, and was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro.
Mr. O’Keefe is survived by his wife, Diana Haynes O’Keefe of Greensboro, Georgia; four daughters, Erin Hedge and husband John, Susan Heath and husband Dennis, Catherine Nearhos and husband Barry and Nancy O’Keefe and Michael Imbasciani; a son, David O’Keefe and Kenneth Tosti; grandchildren, Christine and Lauren Hedge, Diana and Stephanie Nearhos and Michael and Casey Imbasciani; a sister, Cathleen Bozzella and husband John; a brother, Thomas O’Keefe and wife Josephine; and a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary O’Keefe Allen.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father G. Philip Ryan officiating. A reception and visitation will immediately follow the Memorial Mass in the Sacred Heart Social Hall.
