David Conley Obituary

David Lowe Conley, age 84, of Siloam, Georgia, died Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. Born in Crawfordville, GA on December 18, 1920, he was the son of the late Daniel Conley and Nannie Lou Gheesling Conley. David attended school in Siloam and later worked at Chipman Union in Union Point ironing socks. He served in the United States Army 567th Ordinance during World War II. After returning from the War, he owned and operated Conley''s Service Station. He was a member of Siloam Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rainey Conley of Siloam, GA; a daughter, Tina Marie Grall and husband John of Locust Grove, GA; a step daughter, Robin Smith and husband Matt of Greensboro, GA; ten grandchildren, Doug Conley, Travis Conley, Stuart Conley, Ross Grall, Ike Grall, Drake Grall, Jason McDonald, Stephanie McCoy, Shane McCoy and Jeremy McCoy; five great grandchildren, Katie Conley, Taylor Conley, Alley Conley, Harrison Conley and Adin Shane Mitchell; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ina Mae Duvall Conley in 1977; his children, Daniel Fredrick "Dan" Conley, Dianne Conley and Douglass Conley; his brothers, Richard Conley and Horace Conley; and his sister, Virginia Reece.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Siloam Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Almy and Rev. Les Cowart officiating. Interment will follow at Siloam Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Keith James, Randy James, Ross McCommons, Don Channell, Lewis "Peanut" O''Neal and Larry Benton. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Merritt, C. L. "Mutt" Rhodes, Johnny Dolvin, Steve Jarrard, Thurmond Jarrard, Maner Ellenberg, Charles Gheesling, Charles "Too Tall" Bryant and Malcolm H. Callaway Jr. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday night at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
