Daniel Byron “Danny” Tolbert, 62, of Greensboro, Georgia died Monday, December 8, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 17, 1946 in Greene County, GA, he was the son of the late Lawrence Tolbert and Libby Wagnon Tolbert. He graduated from Greensboro High School. For thirty-three years he worked for the Georgia Power Company and after retiring worked several years part time. He loved fishing and hunting.
He is survived by a daughter, Casey T. Smith and husband Mike of Macon, GA; a son, Joe Tolbert of Buford, GA; two sisters, Leila Tolbert of Alpharetta, GA and Gloria Norton and husband Dan of Roswell, GA; a brother, Joseph Tolbert of the Liberty Community; one grandchild, Aiden Smith and a number of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Siloam Cemetery with Rev. Edward A. Swehla officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Thurmond Jarrard, Billy Jarrard, Kevin Bondy and Dan Norton.
