Daniel Joseph Pignato, Sr

Daniel Joseph Pignato, Sr, 69, of Union Point, GA, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. Born on January 7, 1938 in Kanawha County, WV, he was the son of Charles Pignato of Eatonton, GA and the late Leah Patricia Luger Pignato. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School in West Virginia and attended West Virginia State. While in Dunbar, he was a paint chemist for Vimasco Corporation. In August of 1957 he married Janet Lee Rhodes and they enjoyed nearly fifty years together. In 1969 they moved to Jupiter, FL where he worked as an irrigation contractor and owned and operated First Marine Sprinklers, Inc. for twenty-five years. Then they moved to Chauncey, GA outside of Eastman in 1994. They have lived in Greene County since 2004. Daniel was an avid gardener growing flowers and vegetables. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his father, Charles Pignato and stepmother, Betty of Eatonton, GA, he is survived by his wife, Janet Rhodes Pignato of Union Point, GA; a daughter, Pamela Renea Fentress of Winter Springs, FL; two sons, Daniel Joseph Pignato, Jr. and wife Diane of Jupiter, FL and Lance Alan Pignato and wife Michelle of Union Point, GA; two sisters, Nancy P. Cook and husband Don of Burnsville, NC and Cathy Owing and husband Tim of Augusta, GA; four brothers, Thomas Pignato of Franklin, NC, John Pignato of Nicaragua, Harold Pignato of Jupiter, FL and Sam Pignato and wife Carlotta of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Allison Pignato, Brent Pignato, Hunter Pignato, Tanner Pignato, Ashley Fentress and Stephen Fentress; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pignato.
