Daniel Christian Hansen, age 60, of Athens, Georgia, died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at his residence.  Born in Mason City, Iowa on April 29, 1954, he was the son of the  late Shirley Elaine Ward Hansen and Hans Christian Hansen.  He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and attended El Camino College in Torrance, CA.  He married the former Susan Wright on April 28, 1978.  Daniel worked as a diesel mechanic for the Los Angeles Unified School District until 1990, when the family relocated to Georgia.  He worked for Williams Detroit Diesel and then Cobb County Transit until he retired in 1997 .  Daniel enjoyed antiques and collectibles, music, working outside and spending time with his family and pets.

In addition to his wife, Susan Wright Hansen of Athens, GA, he is survived by two daughters, Janice E. Hansen of Marietta, GA and Ellen E. Hansen of Athens, GA; a son, Daniel C. Hansen, Jr. of Dallas, GA; three sisters, Carol Hansen Roeck,  Mary Jean Hansen, and his twin sister, Debra Elaine Hansen; other relatives and many friends.
