Cortez Rawhide Andrews, Jr.
Cortez Rawhide Andrews, Jr. of Greensboro, GA, died on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Greene Point Health Care & Rehabilitation in Union Point at the age of 75. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born June 21, 1942 in Greensboro, GA to the late Cortez Rawhide Andrews, Sr. and Addie Belle Studdard Andrews. He attended Greensboro High School. During his working career, he worked for a Furniture Company in Sparta, GA for fifteen years as the maintenance man and Lena Hy Garment Co. in Greensboro for ten years as the handyman. Cortez was a very good handyman and loved fishing and gardening. He was a member of Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church where he served as a deacon for a number of years
In addition to his parents, Cortez was preceded in death by his siblings, Virginia Gheesling, Ida Merritt, Mattie Hopkins, Nona Tolbert, John Andrews and Willie Ford Andrews. He is survived by two sisters, Ellie Mae Andrews Nash of Greensboro, GA and Delores Andrews Galloway and husband J.T. of Tallapoosa, GA; a brother, George Andrews and wife Pansy of Greensboro, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery, 2830 Highway 15 South, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
