Constance Ruth Cooke

Constance Ruth Cooke, of Madison, GA, died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the age of 76. Connie was born in Baltimore, MD on December 20, 1940 to the late Kenneth James Baumann of Baltimore, MD and the late Ruth Amelia Baumann of Baltimore, MD.  In 1962 she graduated from Towson University in Towson MD, began her career as a teacher in the Baltimore Public School system and married George Albert Cooke in Annapolis, MD. Connie was a loving wife, caring mother and doting grandmother. Throughout her life, Connie gave a great deal of her time and effort volunteering to better the lives of others. Later in life she became very active in the community of Madison, Ga, serving many posts. Among her favorite was The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art where she served as a member of the board as well as a docent.  She also loved cooking, reading, gardening and knitting. Connie was an active member of the Madison First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed bible study and preparing the alter flowers as gifts to be delivered to the elderly in the community.  During her three year battle with pancreatic cancer, Connie never failed to continue her volunteer work and to put others needs before her own. Her strength, generosity, optimism and smile blessed everyone around her. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her.
