Colleen Smith Obituary

Colleen Patricia Elbury Smith, age 64, of Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, GA, died Friday, April 30, 2010. Mrs. Smith, a native of Johannesburg, South Africa was born on September 15, 1945 to the late Robert Elbury and Sheila Kemp Elbury. She was a graduate of St. Mary''s Convent in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 1970 she married Peter Edward Smith. They have lived in Reynolds Plantation since 1998. She was employed at The Oconee Company as office manager, retiring in 2009. Colleen was very active and dedicated to the Pilot Club of Greene County where she held many leadership positions. One of her greatest joys was serving as Chairman of the Meadowcrest Arts and Crafts Festival held annually in Greensboro. She was very creative and enjoyed many hobbies like knitting, arts and crafts, flower gardening and tennis.

She was the beloved wife of Pete Smith of Reynolds Plantation; the beloved mother of three daughters, Natalie Riley and husband Garret of Scottsdale, AZ, Charlene Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah and Lee-Ann Livingston and husband Bo of Greenwood, SC; two sons, Robert Smith and wife Raquel of Woodstock, GA and Kevin Smith of St. John, USVI; the beloved grandmother of eight grandchildren, Gareth Smith, Heather Riley, Abbey Riley, Elizabeth Riley, Connor Riley, Dustin Livingston, Gavin Smith and Caroline Smith.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Landing Pavilion with Rev. David Key officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Colleen to the Pilot Club of Greene County, for Alzheimer''s and other brain related disorders at P. O. Box 122, Greensboro, GA 30642.
