Claude Walker Marchman, Jr., 55, of Greensboro, Georgia, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at his residence surrounded by family. Son of the late Claude Walker Marchman, Sr. and Sara Frances Dingler, he was born on May 24, 1952, in Greene County, Georgia. He graduated from Greensboro High School and married Janie Meadows on October 16, 1971. Claude operated a dairy and poultry farm along with his father and in later years he operated heavy equipment for E. R. Snell in Athens, GA. One of his enjoyments was watching classic westerns on TV.
In addition to his wife of nearly thirty six years, Janie Meadows Marchman, of Greensboro, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Marchman Padgett and husband J. B. of Greensboro, GA and Jennifer Marchman Nichols and husband Andy of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Cathy Swann and husband Richard of Arnoldsville, GA; a stepsister, Shirley Taylor of Thompson, GA; a stepbrother, Thad Walker, Sr. and wife Joyce of Milledgeville, GA; three grandchildren, Taylor Padgett, Cody Padgett and McKenna Padgett; and a number of other friends and relatives.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Long officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Anthony Hardeman, Elmer Hardeman, Sammy Meadows, Joey Meadows, Billy Ray Hammond and Kent Walker.
