Clarice Tew Higdon

Clarice Jane Tew Higdon of Royston, GA, formerly of Greensboro, died at Athens Regional Medical Center on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the age of 77. Born in Fayetteville, NC on November 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Rassie Tew and Bertha Lee Williams Tew. She graduated from Clement High School in Autryville, NC. She married Ronnie Lorenzo Higdon on September 28, 1957. After moving to Greensboro, Clarice worked as a secretary for F. T. Corry Elementary School. She enjoyed shopping, especially at Walmart, but the most important thing to her was taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie L. Higdon on March 21, 1988; and two brothers, Earl Tew and Paul Tew. Mrs. Higdon is survived by two daughters, Dana Higdon Beri and husband Michael of Elberton, GA and Lori Higdon Wells of West Columbia, SC; a sister, Maybelle Hall of Salemburg, NC; a brother, Max Tew and wife Faye of Autryville, NC; sister-in-law, Reavis Tew; two grandchildren, Brandon Lee Beri and Natalie Wells Phelps; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held, Saturday July 13, 2013 at 4:00 p. m. Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA with Rev. Dr. Norman Waldrip officiating. The family will receive friends 2:30 until time for the service on Saturday at McCommons Funeral Home. The family request any memorials be made to The American Heart Fund, P. O.
