Charles Larry Jarrell, Sr

Charles Larry Jarrell, Sr., age 56, of Conyers, GA died Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at St. Joseph''s Hospital in Atlanta. Born in Greene County on May 22, 1948 he was the son of the late Thomas Edwin Jarrell and Sarah Helen English Jarrell of Penfield. In 1966 he graduated from Greensboro High School and was the owner and operator of L & J Lawncare. During his career he worked for Dowling Textile in McDonough, Georgia, Hometown Manufacturing in Greensboro, Georgia, Georgia Pacific formerly Woodcraft in Madison, Georgia and Lena-Hy Garment Company in Greensboro, Georgia. He was an active member of Cornerstone Christian Center of Madison and did prison ministry for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Jarrell of Conyers, GA; three daughters, Michelle Wray and husband Rodney of the Bairdstown Community, Samantha Jarrell of Greensboro, GA and Christy Parker and husband Jeff of Greensboro, GA; three sons, Charles Larry Jarrell Jr. and wife Alma Lynn of McDonough, GA, John Phillips and wife Jeanne of Avon Park, FL and William Phillips and fiance Sara Styron of Penfield, GA; two brothers, Robert Alan Jarrell and wife Dorothy of Penfield, GA and Rev. Thomas Warren Jarrell and wife Pat of Madison, GA; eight grand children, Katelyn Wray, Catherine Wray, Brooke Jarrell, Joshua Phillips, Tiffany Phillips, Casey Phillips, Jordan Phillips and Dylan Parker and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Leigh Lundy.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Center of Madison with Rev. Brenda H. Trammell officiating. Interment will follow at Penfield Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Dean Tillery, Tony Lundy, Jerry Hairell, Bob Varnes, Horace Wade and Frank Veasley. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Barnett and Ronnie Wilkes.
