Charles Erskin “Charlie” Foster
Charles Erskin “Charlie” Foster, age 69, of Eatonton, GA, died May 30, 2006 following a lengthy illness. Born in Cleveland County, NC on May 5, 1937, he was the son of the late Howard G. Foster and Ora D. Myers Foster. He had served in the United States Navy and was a supervisor for the road department in Putnam County for over twenty years. He was extremely musically talented and played music professionally for several years. Charlie was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame recently. He could play all stringed instruments and shared his talents with many.
He is survived by his wife, Ione Candler Foster of Eatonton, GA; a brother; a sister; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved companion boxer, Dee Dee.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date with inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
