Charles Eldridge “Chic” Easley, Sr., 79, of Greensboro died Saturday, July 20, 2002. A native of Whitfield County, Mr. Easley was a son of the late Samuel Manson and Hester Eldridge Easley. He was a 1942 graduate of Presbyterian College and a 1947 graduate of Emory University Dental School. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and was a dentist for 50 years in Greensboro. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Greene County, was a former Greensboro City Councilman, was a former member of the Greene County Board of Education and was a member of the Athens Touch Down Club.
Survivors include his wife, Sylva Broaddrick Easley; four sons, Charles Eldridge Easley Jr. of Greensboro, Frank Broaddrick Easley and wife Judy of Greensboro, Richard Conrad Easley and wife Marian of Greensboro, and Samuel Manson Easley and wife Laura of Augusta; a brother, Dr. Conrad Harlen Easley of Dalton; four grandchildren, Jason Easley, Kelly E. Martin, Conrad Easley, and Jimmy Easley; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2002 at Greensboro City Cemetery with the Revs. Ed Nelson and Richard Chewning officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Faron Beal, David “Rug” Barnhart, Ben Hood, Jamie Reynolds Jr., Jimmy Parrish and Mike Brook. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mickey Channell, Sam Roper, Allan Roper, Deeta McCommons, Cecil Powell, Ronnie Anderson, Jim Temple, Lee Parker, Jim Bay, Mark Blanton and Fred Hunter Sr. The family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 202 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday night at the home of Charles Easley Jr., 303 N. East Street, Greensboro.
